Braxton Family Values Season 3 Episode 12: “Braxton Leading Lady”

Mama Evelyn decides it’s time to get back into the dating game by going on some blind dates, Toni hosts a screening for her first lead in a movie, and Trina agrees to move forward with the sister’ store without Gabe on this episode of Braxton Family Values.

Mama Evelyn finally turns to Tamar for help to get her back into the dating pool, but is still apprehensive about the whole thing. She says she hates dating and admits she’s nervous about who she will meet.

Tamar teases her and says she was going to make her a profile on a regular online dating site, but offered to sign her up with a reputable matchmaking service. Mama Evelyn doesn’t really have a type, but all she wants is for the guy to be normal. And her age. No more youngins, Towanda!

Trina talks to Gabe about him falling back as a partner with the boutique the sisters are still working on. She’s grateful that he did a lot of the leg work but she really wants the store to be a sister thing.
Gabe feels a little hurt that Trina chose her sisters over him again, but understands why. She wants to keep the peace since everyone is in a good place right now. When the husbands get added to the mix, there’s too much drama.

Toni has smoothly made the transition to acting, and landed her first lead role in a TV movie. She hosted a private screening with friends and family, who were all in attendance, including ex-husband Keri Lewis and Toni’s boys Denim and Diezel.

It looks like Toni is very comfortable in front of the camera, but we still want her back behind the booth! Toni says she has no plans to head back to the studio anytime soon, but still goes on tour. Don’t leave us hanging, Toni! We still need to hear your voice!

The first date was a complete bore. She would’ve been more entertained watching paint dry.

She had more chemistry with her second suitor Darryl, and she even flirted a bit!

Go head, Mama E! Looks like she’s got her groove back!

The sisters and Mama Evelyn meet up to plan a surprise baby shower for Tamar, who has been extra moody lately, feeling the woes of pregnancy.

But before they get the ball rolling, they take a little time to playfully tease Mama about her new dating life. They bounce around ideas for the baby shower, and decide it would be fun for all the sisters to have a good old fashioned sleepover.

Hopefully this will be thing that helps to lift Tamar’s spirits. Just a few more months, hang in there Tamar!

We learned from our sources that Nikko has been spending his quality time with Kezia Eley a.k.a. “Ms. Own It Majeure” an up and coming reality show star. This up and coming star refers to herself as a modern-day Josephine Baker as she cuddled with Nikko approximately 4 weeks ago in an Atlanta hotel room.

Kezia has big thangs popping in her love life and tv; she is developing a reality series called ”First Cousins“. She’s going to be featured on “Get Rich Girls” too!
Ms. Own It Majeure seems to be on her grind from what we can tell!

H&M Addresses the Beyonce Photoshop Rumors

The highly popular H&M finally addresses the Photoshop rumors surrounding their new summer 2013 campaign featuring Beyoncé.

“The Sun” posted that Beyonce was UPSET about H&M editing her photos to make her appear skinny. According to “The Sun”,

“The star was upset after finding out the company had edited her photos to make her appear less curvy. A source tells the paper Beyonce insisted H&M use the original, untouched images for the final campaign – and apparently she got her way. “

A spokesperson for H&M attempted to clear up the report to “The Sun”.

H&M admitted that there had been some ”discussions” with Beyonce about which photos to use. H&M confirmed that the published pictures were not altered. H&M wants the public to know that,

 ”Both H&M and Beyonce are very happy with the final result.”

So I guess we can put the Photoshop rumors to rest now. It’s good to know that Beyonce has so much control on her image and persona. It’s great to see women with real curves in the media. We see you BEY! ROCK THOSE CURVES GIRL!!!!!!

New Video: Tamar Braxton “The One”

Singer and reality tv star Tamar Braxton (of the Braxton Family Values and Tamar and Vince) has released her new video for “The One“, which is the second single off her forthcoming album, “Love and War“ that is slated to be released this fall.

“The One” (which samples the Notorious B.I.G.’s “Juicy“) has a very laidback, carefree, summertime romance type of feel, and director Gil Green did a great job of capturing that vibe in the video. In the video, Braxton is shown with her “significant other” as they spend some quality time together and have a fun-filled day at the beach. We also get to see quite a few shots of the mommy-to-be and her adorable “baby bump“.

In an interview with Rap-Up TV, Braxton had this to say about the concept of the video:

“The concept of the video is just a summer throwback. It kinda gives you that feeling when you was in high school and you was with your boyfriend or your girlfriend and you go to the park and you hang out and you get all cutie, and it’s just funners.”

LisaRaye and Bishop Noel Jones Are Officially Dating

That's right Actress and all around American eye candy, LisaRaye has gotten herself a preacher man. Bishop Noel Jones, brother of the famed icon Grace Jones is reportedly dating the Player's Club star. According to sources the couple are still trying to keep the relationship under wraps but... it looks like the cat is out of the bag.

They are also slated to star in Oxygen's upcoming reality TV series, "Pastors of L.A." Reportedly the couple will unveil the news on the new show. A source who saw the pilot for the show stated that Bishop Jones reveal his dislike of LisaRaye's choice in dress and stated that she may not be Godly enough for his world. The actress replied, And you may not be worldly enough for mine.

LisaRaye & Stacey Dash Star In New Movie ‘Lap Dance’

It looks like we may be getting another glimpse of Diamond!
After the Single Ladies drama, who knew that LisaRaye and Stacey Dash would be working together again. But despite the past they’ve buried the hatchet to costar in "Lapdance." A new series where they both play strippers. LisaRaye is tapping into her Player’s Club days for the film which also features Lynn Whitfield, K.D. Aubert, and Carmen Electra, and is co-produced by Datari Turner who did Meagan Good’s Video Girl, Common’s LUV, and Stacey’s recent movie Dysfunctional Friends.
According to Carlton Jordan, the movie is about a woman who only takes up stripping to pay off some hospital bills, but things go left.

An aspiring actress makes a pact with her fiance to take a job as an exotic dancer to care for her cancer stricken father. Once the pact the couple made is broken, there lives are changed forever.

It's always good to see LisaRaye in anything that reveals her sexy... and she has plenty of it to show. Good for her, now if we could just bring her sister, Da Brat up to speed and the year 2013. I swear she's stuck in the early nineties. The last time I saw her was at the So So Def reunion and she was still rocking braids and beads... Where they do that at???

Kerry Washington Talks Death Threats, Substituting & Twitter Blocking In The Hollywood Reporter

Actress Kerry Washington has nabbed a cover spot on "The Hollywood Reporter." That's right she's representing for the new wave of “Drama Queens” and looking lovely while doing so.  She joins the ladies of Breaking Bad, House of Cards, Mad Men, Nashville, and Top of the Lake on the cover dedicated to the fiercest women on television.
After the shoot, Kerry joined the other ladies (Kate Mara, Anna Gunn, Connie Britton, Elisabeth Moss, and Monica Potter) for a roundtable discussion where she dished on being a substitute teacher in New York, getting death threats on Twitter for her political views, and being rejected for movie roles.

On Her Worst Job
It wasn’t one of my worst jobs, but I used to be a substitute teacher for New York City schools. It was great and hard, and I even did it after I started working in films. But I had to stop after I did Save the Last Dance because the students were like, “Chenille is substituting!”
On Her Worst Audition
It’s a little bit different for me because I’ll audition for something and they’ll just decide that they’re not going “ethnic” with a character, which I hear a lot.
If not “black,” then yeah. People have artistic license … that’s what casting is: fitting the right look to the right character. Whereas you could maybe lose some weight, there’s not really anything I can do, nor would I want to, about being black.
On the Craziest Thing She’s Done to Get a Role
I’ve written a lot of letters to directors.
On Negative Backlash Because of Her Real Life Political Involvement
I come from a family where people really participate in the democratic process. I don’t think that being an actor should prevent me from continuing to do the things I do. A lot of people fought for me to have the right as a woman to be able to participate, and as a person of color, and so I don’t want my acting to get in the way of that. I do it as an American. And blowback? Absolutely. After I spoke at the Democratic National Convention — our show has a very active life on Twitter and Facebook — I couldn’t go near any of it because there were threats to my life, sexism and racism. It was shocking that me speaking at a convention incited all this anger. Thank God for block on Twitter!
I would never block somebody for disagreeing with me. But the threats to my life … that’s not so good.
On Social Media
Yeah. I mean, you read the good stuff. … But I don’t tweet about my personal life. I don’t tweet things that are about me. I work with a woman who is a digital social media consultant because I was terrified to go on Twitter. She helped me to figure out how to engage — as an actor — to promote the work without promoting myself. It’s scary. It’s this whole other universe.

Keeping Up With The Kardashians” To Begin Eighth Season Sunday

The Kardashian Klan returns for their 8th season of "Keeping up with the Kardashians." That's right America's most followed family has been at it for eight years and we still can't get enough. Reportedly the sex of Kim Kardashian and Kanye West’s baby will be revealed on the eighth season premiere of the show this Sunday.

To date the famed coupled has not publicly revealed the sex of the baby but judging from the baby shower invitations... they are expecting a baby girl. I personally was hoping for a boy because little girls tend to take on their father's features. But who knows Kim's genes may be strong enough to over power Kanye's. I wonder how dramatic will the reveal be??? I expect nothing less than lights, camera, and action for the unveiling of the news.

Khloe Kardashian didn’t let the cat out of the bag regarding the sex of the baby, but she did tell NBC’s “Today” show Wednesday,

“That fans have a lot to look forward to this season!”

Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe’s step brothers, Brody and Brandon Jenner, will also be joining the the reality TV shows this season. Brody and Brandon are the sons of the sister's stepdad and former Olympian Bruce Jenner. Khloe says,

 ”The family is still amazed that the show is still going strong eight seasons later. She says she has no regrets about her life in the spotlight and that the show has brought her family closer!”

The new season of “Keeping Up With The Kardashians” premieres Sunday on E! at 9:00 pm Eastern.

Tyler Perry brings Success to OWN with “The Haves and The Have Nots”

Tyler Perry‘s “The Haves and The Have Nots” is a success for soap operas and the Oprah Winfrey Network.

According to OWN, the debut episode of  Tyler Perry’s new original drama series “The Haves and the Have Nots” last night, drew 1.77 million viewers total, making it the highest rated series debut in network history.

OWN premiered two back-to-back episodes; the first attracted 1.77 million total viewers for the premiere at 9 pm, building to over 1.8 million viewers tuning in for the second episode at 10 pm.

“The Haves and The Have Nots” looks like a HIT for Tyler Perry and the Oprah Winfrey Network! In the day of reality tv it’s exciting to see the resurgence of the soap opera. Shonda Rhimes is enjoying the rewards of producing a great story lines in the midst of reality television domination.

We hope that the viewers will continue to support “The Haves and The Have Nots“. Not only does this show signal a change in diversity on network TV; but it also gives actors an opportunity to WIN.

Thank you! He’s 2 months today. 8 weeks old today.
Awwwwww, that is so sweet! How has fatherhood and marriage changed your life?
Ugh, Patience. I definitely have to have patience. It’s an acclimation to both. I will first start with marriage because the wife and I did not live together before we got married. She would come up to visit because I was working in Boston and she was back home in Maryland while we were dating and engaged. So now since we are living together it’s a little different. But it’s great though. It’s a fun challenge. Getting to live with one another. Learning how to live with one another. 

Awwwwww, that is so nice. We read that you two were high school sweethearts?
We get that a lot. We went to the same high school and graduated in the same class but we did not actually date until we reconnected after college. She was not ready for me in high school!!! LOL!!!!
Wow, that sounds like a made for TV movie for Lifetime, WE TV, or OWN. You know we love Oprah!
Yeah we love her too! Maybe we can make it!
We read that you were instrumental in helping with a huge charity to benefit the Boston Marathon victims.

Can you tell us a little more about it?
Yes, the campaign is still going on. ONE FUND BOSTON DOT ORG is the website we have been promoting.   The One Fund Boston  will benefit the Boston Marathon bombing victims and their families. It’s still a road to  recovery for them; let along the financial aspect. We are helping to promote the charity and encouraging people to donate to the website. Anything from the heart goes a long ways.

Do you have any interests outside of football? Do you have any special hobbies?
FAMILY! I love to go home and hang out with the family. We have visited home twice since having the baby. It’s a lot of fun being around family laughing and joking.

Then video games. I am a big kid at heart. I never see myself outgrowing that phase.
Are you an X-Box sort of guy or a Play Station sort of guy?
I have both. But I can’t remember the last time I played or bought a game for X-Box. So, I guess I am a Play Station sort of guy.
I do have a couple of football related questions!
As a starter for New England, do you feel pressure to perform? Since the Pats are considered a modern-day dynasty like the Steelers and Niners of years past.
Not at all. It’s my job. My niche is football. Everybody has their job. We make it a job atmosphere; we embody the hardworking and blue-collar persona of the town. We take on the persona individually and as a team. “DO YOUR JOB!” is our mission.
Did you play Pee Wee Football or did you discover it later in life?

I went through the farming system as far as pee wee, high school, and college but I never really gave it a serious thought until senior year in high school. I only played one year of varsity football. I originally fancied myself as a basketball player but height and coaching differences made that kinda difficult to pursue. I feel like I am a late bloomer as it relates to football. I am still learning something new everyday.
Can you give Freddy O an exclusive? What’s something about Kyle Arrington that we can’t find on google?
Athletes in particular listen to Hip Hop to get hype for the game. I LOVE R&B. I listen to R&B when driving to and from work. I love to sing as well. I can’t sing but I love to sing!  My love for R&B music is an exclusive!
